Sales tax collected automatically on TAX EXEMPT valid US postage stamps... How to get it back?
Now that ebay collects sales tax automatically for everything, what am I supposed to do about being ripped-off in this particular fashion? Both federal and Michigan state law are clear that postage stamps which are still valid for use (which includes ALL stamps printed since ~the 1930s) are NOT subject to sales tax when resold. I'm prepared to buy a LOT of these, would love to know how to fix this problem. I've had to complain directly to another direct seller who's had to manually refund the erroneously-collect sales tax money after every order. Anyone have an idea what I can do?
