Mentor4 months agoSales tax is determined by eBay based on the category the item is listed in. So if the seller listed the item in a taxable category you will be charged sales tax. Check with your State sales tax authority about how to claim a refund. I noticed when looking up the sales tax rules in Virginia for coins that the exemption expires on July 1, 2026 so your legislature would need to pass a new exemption for coins to continue to be free of sales tax.
