sales tax
I tried to purchase a $10 item. The tax was $1,08. I asked the seller why the tax was 10.8% The tax rate in Texas is 8.25% and in Pennsylvania where the item is located. They said Ebay sets the sales tax rate. I should contact them. Of course there is no way to contact Ebay about this. Anyone else noticed this?

eBay collects tax according to the laws of the state the item is being shipped to. Most states tax shipping cost along with the price of the item. Sellers have nothing to do with the tax collection.
