Why am i paying almost 8% sales tax when my sales tax rate is 4.5%?

Mentor2 years agoWhat state and zip code are you having items delivered to? Are you taking into consideration shipping if your state taxes that? Or any local taxes?
What sort of item? Some states have additional fees for certain kinds of items like batteries, electronics and mattresses to pay for disposal. Those fees may wind up being included in the tax line item.
