How do I find out what has been the sales history of an item I want to list for sale?

I prefer to look at the eBay "sold" listing for my item. You can find the actual sales prices for your item, or a similar item by doing a search, and then filtering for SOLD. You'll find the Sold filter on the left-hand side of the website view, or under "filters" for the mobile view.
