Sale of stolen, grave-related items on ebay
Hi folks,
This is my first post to this forum in my 25 years as a member.
Help me out here, if you will be so kind. I keep seeing things like this show up on ebay,
This antique GAR Star Civil War 1861-1865 Grave Marker from Clyde Ohio is a great addition to any militaria collection. To find it go to Civil War and type in GRAVE MARKER.
Now in my judgement, this item has obviously been removed from the final resting place of a United States
military veteran of the Civil War. In reading the venue's rules and regulations, the sale of stolen or "grave-related items is prohibited. I am not accusing the seller of theft, but my great-grandfather's grave had one of these stars the last time I visited. It was placed there in 1926 when he died. I wonder if it is still there.
In a brief message from ebay, I was informed the following:
We looked into your report and didn’t find the listing to be in violation of our policy. This determination was made using automation or artificial intelligence. (italics mine)
Does anyone with genuine human intelligence, or better yet, empathy work there?
