Sale of rare item cancelled because ebay didn't trust the buyer.
eBay cancelled the sale of a rare item that I have already shipped to the buyer. Now I am out the money for the sale as well as the item I have shipped. what can I do? None of this was my fault.

That sounds frustrating.
Typically, if eBay cancels the sale, you get to keep the buyer's payment.
eBay is removing the buyer from the platform for some inappropriate behavior.
If the buyer paid, that money should still be in your account. Don't worry about that part.
eBay removes buyers and sellers from the platform for violating policies (inappropriate behavior)
When they do that, they remove the transaction from history, which cancels the sale.

OP4 months agoThanks. i did perform a "Package Intercept" with USPS for the merchandise. Hopefully, I'll get it back and be able to resell it.

If you get it back, I would refund the buyer (less shipping and intercept). Otherwise they can file a chargeback.

OP4 months agoI'll probably wait until I get it back and see what ebay says to do as they have told me not to have any contact with the buyer. I'm also going to be charged a pretty good sum to do the package intercept by the usps. Don't think I should have to eat that.

OP4 months agoI haven't sold a lot of ebay, but I have worked very hard to maintain and excellent Seller record. I don't want to do anything to upset that, especially when it was something totally out of my control.

OP4 months agoOne of the things ebay said to me in their message about cancelling the sale was to contact them once I have the item back in my possession. I have no idea how to actually get a human being on the phone from ebay. Any "contact Us" button that I hit only goes to further icons to click on. Never goes to an email, chat or phone #. Anyone know how I can speak to a rep?

Scroll to the Bottom of the page
1) Click "Contact Us" or the ? then:
In the CHAT WINDOW
2) Type "payments"
3) Type "Agent" in the chat window
4) You may need to click "Something Else" or "More Options" or type "Agent" a few more times
5) Click “Have Us Call You” (or "call us")
-- If you use a call filter on your phone, turn it off temporarily, or it might block the incoming call.
