Sale fees
I'm having trouble understanding how to use ebay. It seems like I'm being charges the final value fee on items at full price instead of the profit from the sale?
Like, if I paid $2000 for an item, and sell it for $2200, the fees far exceed the profit I'd be making for it, making using this site pointless? How is this site supposed to be used? I can't fathom how anyone makes any money but ebay, I can't buy things cheap enough to resell for profit here.
Anything I've ever sold was at a loss, and because I just wanted it gone.

Mentor1 year agoThe fees for selling on eBay can seem high and can cut into profits as you have experienced.
If you are buying specifically for resale, you have to consider the fees when you determine how much to spend on the item. As in your example, there are times when it is just not worth it to try to sell.
To determine if something is worth it to sell on eBay is the price you acquire the item at.
If you can't make a profit, the item is too expensive to buy.
It's a great site for selling unwanted items or used items you no longer need.
Buying specifically for resale is tricky and you have to factor in all fees and expenses when you purchase items.
