Sale Canceled for Security
Summary: ryanspokemoncenter received a message from eBay about a canceled bid because the buyer is no longer registered. The order has been completed and delivered, prompting concern about next steps. jacbarcollectibles advises that, since the item has been delivered, there's not much to do unless the buyer attempts a chargeback through their payment source, in which case ryanspokemoncenter should contact eBay for guidance.
I received the following message from eBay:
We canceled a bid on the listing below because the buyer, qi-144, is no longer registered on eBay.
What to do next:
Don’t communicate with qi-144.
Don’t complete the sale or ship the item to qi-144. If you’ve already shipped the item, contact the carrier to see if the delivery can be stopped and returned to you.
We haven't issued a refund to qi-144. If they ask for a refund, contact us before sending any money.
If your listing has ended, you can relist your item.
If you have questions about this cancellation, visit our Help pages. Contact options are available there.
The order is complete and delivered - should I have any concerns regarding this? What next steps should I take?

Mentor3 weeks agoThis is something that happens from time to time. I know that Ebay's email looks a bit scary, but you will be just fine. When Ebay sees or thinks they see a problem with any given buyer, they tend to react on the side of caution and cancel any recent transactions. Ebay is NOT always right on this. Sometimes the buyers have really done nothing wrong, so don't assume they have.
For me, these things usually come in well after I've shipped the item. So nothing I really can do. I've been a seller for a very long time and I get these notifications from time to time, in ALL my years, it has never been a problem. Buyer paid, I shipped, they received the item and the transaction was done. I never heard from ANY of the buyer affected by these types of email. I have never refunded any buyers affected by these types of emails either.
Ebay will NOT refund the buyer if they paid you. They will, as the email would have told you, refund your selling fees. But the will NOT force you to refund. And really, you don't need to issue a refund unless you are not going to or haven't shipped the item. But if you have already shipped, I really wouldn't worry about it. It is highly likely you will be just fine.

Mentor3 weeks agoIf the item has already been delivered then there is little you can do now. eBay removed the buyer for some type of infractions and they will not be able to open any returns for the item. They could still go back to their payment source for a charge back so that is an outside possibility. If they did this then you would need to contact eBay for instructions.
