Royal Canin Veterinary Renal Support F listing rejected under policy, but identical listings are active?
Summary: jroy858 sought clarification on why their eBay listing for Royal Canin Veterinary Renal Support F was rejected under the Prescription Drugs policy, despite seeing similar active listings. comics-scifi-collectibles explained that any item requiring a prescription, for humans or pets, is not permitted on eBay, noting that other listings may have simply not been detected yet. jroy858 expressed gratitude for the clarification.
Hi everyone,
I’m hoping someone can help me understand whether my listing was removed correctly or if this was an automated error.
I attempted to list 3 unopened bags of Royal Canin Veterinary Renal Support F Dry Cat Food (6.6 lb each, Exp. October 2026).
The listing was automatically rejected under eBay’s Prescription Drugs policy, and I was told not to relist.
However, I found:
• Multiple recently completed sales of the identical product
• A currently active listing for the same product (Item #298474941919)
My listing was created from scratch (not “Sell Similar”), included the expiration date, photos of the unopened bags, and did not make any medical claims.
I’m not trying to get around eBay policy. I simply want to understand:
Is Royal Canin Veterinary Renal Support F prohibited on eBay?
Has anyone successfully listed this exact product recently?
If so, was there something different about the category or listing that avoided the automatic rejection?
Thanks in advance for any guidance!
If an eBay moderator sees this, I’d appreciate clarification on whether this product is prohibited under current policy or whether my listing may have been incorrectly flagged by the automated system.

Mentor1 month ago@jroy858 ANY human OR pet item that requires a prescription is not allowed to be sold on eBay.
Royal Canin Veterinary Renal Support F requires a veterinary prescription.
While you might see some others listed they just have not been caught YET.
They may even be removed by eBay at the time of sale which means the seller will have to refund the buyer.
