Do you happen to be using a VPN? A VPN bounces your signal from somewhere else, sometimes several somewhere elses, and even around the world, before it lands at the destination. The repeater it bounced from just before it reached eBay could have been in Bumfork, Egypt, and the eBay computer could have recognized that location.
