Reversing a refund
An item was shipped internationally, and the buyer didn't get it within the delivery time frame. They started a claim for "non-delivery", so as the deadline came and went, I issued a refund. Several days later, the item was delivered. Now I don't know how I can get paid since the item was received but I refunded the buyer. Is there a way to get my money or am I SOL? I have since disabled international shipping until I can sort this out. If I'm out my item with no reimbursement, then I think I will forego selling outside of the United Sates because there seems to be no way for the seller to recoup their money if an item ends up not being delivered. I did everything I was supposed to do but now I'm not getting paid for my shipped item.

If you are enrolled in the eBay International Shipping program and sent an international purchase to the eBay hub in the U.S., and if the Buyer did not receive their item by the estimated delivery date to their country, the Buyer would need to open an Item Not Received refund request and eBay would have issued the refund for you.
Because you issued the refund instead, typically it then becomes an issue between you and your Buyer for them to repay you. I would recommend that you message eBay on their Facebook page. Let them know you wanted to take care of your Buyer and issued the refund yourself and see what they say. Best of luck.

OP1 year agoHey thanks, I will try that. As an update, the buyer did confirm that they received the item. Now I just have to figure out how to get paid. Super appreciate your input.

Having this happen is quite common. Because you have already had a transaction with this Buyer, eBay allows for you to send them an invoice via PayPal or Venmo for them to pay you again.

OP1 year agoHey thanks again. I'll look into that as they suggested using paypal to send me the cost of the item. So, initially not happy with how things went but seems there's a light at the end of the tunnel, thank you.
