reuse my email address after changing account name

Since changing my account name, the system will not let me reuse my favored email address, saying it is already taken....

It appears you opened a new account. When you simply change your user ID, ebay displays an icon that when clicked on, shows you recently changed your user ID. When I look at your registration for this account, there is no icon for a changed user ID.

Did you change your username or create a new eBay account?

If you changed your username, everything else about the account remains the same, including your email address.

Each eBay account needs a unique email address. Depending on your mail provider, you may be able to generate a new email name that points to the same inbox.
