Returns: Suggested “ship by†date
Hi community -
Is it permissible to proceed with return shipping on an item well in advance of the date the return period ends (e.g., 5/15) but after eBay’s suggested “ship by date� I’ve already initiated the return and still have ample time before the date the window closes but now see eBay’s directions to “ship by†and was unsure as to whether I need to cancel/re-initiate, speak with an associate, etc. Thanks!

·2 years agoYou can only initiate a return after you have received the item. If you have not received an item, there is nothing to return.
If you were trying to cancel a purchase, you would use the cancel option, but he seller may decline the cancellation option if the order has already shipped or if the order has already been sent to the warehouse for shipment.
After you open a return, if you close the return, you can no longer open a new return request.
