Returns not accepted - except when ebay asks?
Hi my seller profile says "does not accept returns." So why does ebay permit a buyer to initiate one because the item "didn't fit?" Measurements were taken and photographed for the listing. Sizing was clear.
When a seller accepts returns, items are listed for more money. No returns for a seller who doesn't accept them should mean something, should it not? Now if I don't accept it, I'm the bad guy?!

Mentor5 months ago@matmart_3876. You can deny the return request if the buyer chose Doesn't Fit for the return reason. If you accept the return the buyer pays return shipping and you can withhold the outbound shipping as lont as it was not free shipping.
You can't deny the return if the buyer chose a not as described reason such as doesn't match description or photos. Then just said doesn't fit in a comment.

OP5 months agoHi and thanks for your input. Well, it was "free shipping" so perhaps that is not the best idea. That would mean that I lose the $6 for shipping, the packaging cost, the driving to the post office, and all of the time spent. But again, why does ebay permit buyers to even ask? They should be telling them No, sorry, it was clearly stated that seller does not accept returns. Now if I don't accept it, I get a 1-star rating?
For extra context, ebay permitted another buyer just last month to return a used item for full refund that they claimed had arrived damaged (damage that could not have been there before). From the before photos, it was evident that they damaged it, but apparently ebay must ensure that the buyer is happy. Return accepted, sale lost, postage paid, and product now unsellable. I'm not understanding why this is their policy?

eBay gives sellers the option to accept the return if they choose to for Buyers remorse returns even when the seller has a no returns policy.
You can deny the return as I said since they chose doesn't fit.
I would also add the buyer to your blocked buyer list.
You can't deny returns if the buyer SAYS it is somehow not as described such as damaged or doesn't match description or photos.
Your return policy is only for buyers remorse returns such as doesn't fit, changed mind, etc. That is why you can deny this return.
