Returns for sellers
I sold a product and once the buyer recieved it he filed for a return on the basis that the product was not as described. I challenged the return request because the claims he made were false. I still needed up losing and was required to refund the money. Once I was notified I had lost I contacted buyer and let him know I would be sending a return label once he recieved his money back. I have messaged him multiple times now but he still has yet to respond. So my question is can I contact eBay and let them know and get my money back since the buyer is not returning the product? Or since I lost the case does he have no obligations?

Unfortunately, the latter.
When eBay steps in to make a decision , usually buyer will be refunded and is not required to return the item.
eBay will also issue to you an account defect for not resolving the matter without their intervention.
To get your item back, you will have to try to convince your buyer to return it, but eBay will not help with this.
You do still have legal remedy through civil litigation (small claims) if you feel it is warranted and your buyer refuses to cooperate.
