Returns are a Scam
Summary: desertg-59 shared a frustrating experience with selling items on eBay. A buyer repeatedly requested returns, claiming the items were not as described, despite clear photos and descriptions. After disputing the claims, eBay granted a refund to the buyer, leaving desertg-59 with financial losses due to shipping fees and eBay's charges. They expressed dissatisfaction with eBay's seller policies and intent to close their account, advising others to avoid selling on the platform.
I had put a few rings and other items online to sell. All items were brought to a jeweler to understand what I had if anything. There is one buyer that seems to buy things and ask for returns he did this twice. After the first time I should have said no and refunded the other item as well. The rings have clear markings on the inside and I can only go by what a jeweler tells me. I posted pictures of every angle of the rings along with the markings. 3 days after the buyer had it decides he does not want it and starts a return states it does not match description. I ask what does not match? I get no answer until I mention I contacted EBAY then all of a sudden states bad condition and not authentic. I ask what is not authentic ? The markings are on the ring and every picture is clear as a bell of all angles and some are close ups so what is bad about the condition? No answer just an email from EBAY stating they granted the refund and I not only paid for shipping to and from this buyer but of course EBAY fees. I LOST money. EBAY is a joke for sellers unless you are a full time seller where this is how you make your money and a business. I am not I had a family member pass away. Though it states NO REFUNDS as long as the buyer states it does not match the description EVEN IF IT DOES they get a refund no questions asked. That is their way out. I asked for my account to be closed and they have to close it, which they have not yet. It says I received the item back which I have not. I have notified my bank that any charges come in from EBAY be disputed and all paperwork has been handed over to them. Why even take the chance to sell on EBAY when you will lose money? The items were below what the jeweler stated as well. STAY AWAY!
