Returns and/or lack of ebay support
I'm not loving a recent return and apparently have no recourse as far as eBay is concerned... does sound accurate?
I'm not 100% thrilled eBay allowed a buyer to hold used media for 28 days before returning it because "it doesn't work" only to get it back and find it absolutely works as intended. This is particularly problematic when dealing with media that can easily be enjoyed and/or duplicated before returning. Returns in general cost me time and money, but I understand things happen and have no problem issuing refunds and/or paying for shipping if something doesn't work, was damaged during shipping, or I failed to describe it accurately, or were in any way even remotely responsible for the problem but that's simply not the case here.
Additionally USPS tracking doesn't even show the return as delivered but eBay is somehow sure it was returned and hounding me to issue a refund? How do they know it was returned if the carrier cannot even confirm it was delivered? Are they employing psychics now or just once again assuming? Obviously it was returned to me but it does leave me wondering whose side eBay would be on if I shipped something, carrier made a mistake and couldn't confirm it was ever delivered, and the buyer claimed they never received it. Then whether they did or not becomes irrelevant to eBay's unhelpful algorithms and chatbot as I'm left with no proof it was delivered and would presumably be held accountable. Does that sound about right?
It isn't a big ticket item and we're talking about a minimal amount of money here but out of principle why do I, as a seller, have to pay return shipping when it was returned due to being "damaged/defective" but wasn't damaged or defective? Or is the general policy for buyers do whatever you feel like and for sellers just keep paying return shipping and fees whether the return is legitimate or not? Is there no way to contact a human being at eBay?
