Mentor1 month ago@cam_9305 Returns to China do need to be shipped with Priority Mail so that you have tracking proof of delivery. You also have to manually add the tracking number into the case.
If the item is not as described do NOT pay return shipping yourself and expect to be refunded for it. The seller has to send the $ to pay return shipping to your PayPal account before you return the item.
I can provide more details on the steps if needed.

I think it is too late - the return is already closed due to the amount of time that has passed.

Was the item advertised as shipping from China?
What is the reason for return? Did you open a return request?

OP1 month agoHad a part I return that didn’t fit a starter for a UTV $85 and the tracking says it’s been sitting at a facility in New Jersey for over two months and EBay closed the return since I had a deadline to return it.

That must be very frustrating. I’ve never tried to ship an item to China, so I don’t know what would cause the package to be held for so long. If there is an issue sending it on to China, I am surprised that usps has not returned it to you. Maybe it is lost?
Unfortunately, there isn’t anything eBay can do to help. If you had the part in hand, I would suggest contacting your credit card issuer and opening a dispute for an item not as described. But since you do not have the part, I’m not sure they would be willing to open a dispute.
You could try opening a missing mail inquiry. If the package is lost, most usps services include insurance. I would start here -

Mentor1 month ago@cam_9305 Since the return is closed your best option now is a chargeback with your payment method. I do recommend filing the missing mail search too though as @wooden_flower suggested.
