Returns
Hi, I’m hoping someone can give me advice on how to handle this. I sold 2 brand new items and evidently in shipping the taped item(taped from manufacturer) must have come undone. The customer is requesting me to refund 1 of the items, instead of requesting a return. Once I explained to customer they have to request the return, customer then said I will return both since you’re not giving me a refund. She wanted me to refund and her keep the item. Both items have never been removed from the original shipping box when purchased until taking them out to ship to customer. Should I get eBay to handle this or what?

-eBay is NOT going to "handle" this for you. If the Buyer files a return for an item not as described YOU will be charged the return shipping label and have to refund upon receipt.
-You should just have the Buyer file the return, get the items back and resell them.
-It does not sound like you want to refund the Buyer for the one item or even a partial refund.
-Depending on what you get back some Seller protections may apply: Seller protections | eBay
