This scenario pops up from time to time. I have had it happen myself.
A Buyer purchases an item from you, you ship, it's delivered. Then that Buyer contacts you under a different name to say they never received it or they received it damaged/broken, etc and need you to send them a paid label to return it or just refund them.
What I would do is respond to the Mystery Buyer and say you searched your sales records and could not find a transaction under that name. You may never hear back from them. If you do hear back and they say they bought it under a different name, let them know you need to hear directly from that person so you can look up the transaction. If you need further assistance, please update this post.

OP1 year agoi thought this would be an easy situation to have addressed by the ebay community. boy, was i wrong.
my situation: i shipped an item. it was delivered. now the buyer took a picture of a similar item, sent the pics, and along with the pics says, "item does not match description". what happens when i get an item back that i have never layed my eyes on? is this a common scam? does the seller have any ground to stand on?
