Returns
I been trying to sell some old framed prints. After a sale, the buyer requests a return saying the item is damaged. The cost of shipping (sending and returning) is starting to exceed the value of the item. Is it customary to ever refund but ask the buyer to keep or dispose of the damaged item to avoid additional shipping charges? Thx

When a buyer files a formal ‘return request’ … the seller has the option either to send a prepaid shipping label for the return of the item OR to refund in full and let the buyer keep the item.
Sellers usually consider whether the current condition of the item is worth the cost of having it returned … just as you are doing.
