Returns
Customer wants a return because what he wanted was not in the package. He acknowledges the missing piece and still purchased the item. I decline a refund. But he assumes ebay will honor the return. The fault lies with the customer, not me. He opened his eBay account the same day he purchased my item. It's like I'm being scammed. Customer "assumed" that since the description describes missing piece, that piece would be there. He never sent a question to me. He purchased item and paid for it. I will not offer a refund because the item arrived on time and I showed in a pic of exactly what was in the open box. It's an open box. The box is not the item. What he paid for was inside the box and it was clearly photographed.

If the buyer filed the Return Request specifying that the item does not match description/item not as described, then you are obligated to approve the return, provide the prepaid return shipping label and refund the buyer when you receive the returned item.
If you refuse to cooperate, the buyer can turn to Ebay for help, in which case Ebay will find in favor of the buyer, refund the buyer from your account and let the buyer keep the item, and assess a defect on your selling account.
Just FYI, your "No returns" policy is overridden by Ebay's Money Back Guarantee for buyers.

OP2 years agoBuyer has no profile. It's like he created the account to cause confusion. He knew full well what he was buying. He knew the missing piece was not included and he still purchased the item. It's robbery if ebay allows him a refund.

Mentor2 years agoPlease re-read my previous reply for your own benefit. I completely understand your frustration but it would be unfortunate for your account status if the buyer had to turn to Ebay for help.

OP2 years agoPlease understand that I clicked partial refund and ebay signs me out. Never done that before. It started when I took this topic public in this forum. I'm always signed into ebay. Never had to use my password, until now. This is not frustration. This is a time when the customer is not right. Ebay has a right to protect sellers from hostile buyers. The buyer knew the open box was missing an item and he purchased it anyway. Item showed photos of what was in the box. Can't be any
clearer than this.
