Returning one of the two same items I purchased from a seller

Question

I bought a drum from a printer seller months ago and it was defective. I didn't have the chance to return it on time. I bought another from the same vendor. When I sent the original defective purchased item back, he denied my request to reimburse me because it didn't have the secondary purchase item serial number. I think it's only fair for him to reimburse me for the defective item I purchased originally that I wasn't able to return to him within a timely manner. Please help!!!!!!

If you have the tracking number for the return and it is less that 180 days, open a dispute with the payment processor for a refund.
