Returning item to Japan
I cannot reach an agent and have been waiting hours beyond the estimated call back time.
I initiated a return of an item to a seller. This is my first time doing a return. The item is being return to Japan. Item cost was $662, and the shipping cost was $122, tax $70. On the listing it says under returns: "30 days returns. Seller pays for return shipping." Import fees "includes import fees".
After pressing on return, which is a "change of mind" return, I expected a full refund given the policies. Seller sends a message saying: "We will deduct the customs duties we paid on your behalf, as well as the round-trip shipping costs and handling fees, from your refund. This return is considered to be due to the buyer’s circumstances."
Seller then sent over what I believe to a paid shipping label.
I believe this to be incorrect. Am I not supposed to receive a full refund given his policy. This is my first return. Round-trip shipping costs should 100% never be included given his listing says "seller pays for return shipping". Also, the customs is included in the shipping which is exorbitant.
Under my return item, the "request amount" is $722. I believe this to be unfair as it does not include refunding the shipping and customs.
Please advise. I do not want to return the item back as such a massive cost without an agent stepping in for me. Please help also with: after 3 days will I get the option of having an agent step in button appear? At the same time, if I come to peace with the "request" amount of $722, is that the amount I definitely will be refunded if I ship the item back with the seller's paid label?
I am super miserable. This is a miserable experience with Ebay over my first and only return after buying here for years.
