returning an item that was listed in US but return is to China
I purchased an underseat carry on bag, but when I researched the airlines' allowed dimensions I realized that this bag would not fit. The origin of the bag said New Jersey. (I should add that the Item arrived in a Walmart box, as though it came from Walmart.) When I contacted the seller for a return address I realized that the bag had to be returned to China, which is an exorbitant shipping cost. The seller offered meĀ 25% of the cost of the item, which I refused, because I thought I would be returning it to New Jersey. The seller then acquiesced and sent me a shipping label. I applied the label and sent the item, however it came back to me three days later. I sent the seller a message, but received no response. I then contacted an agent at EBAY and they advised me to contact the seller again and give him 24 hours to send a legitimate shipping label. No response. I communicated with another agent at EBAY , who told me to leave negative feedback and maybe the seller would contact them, and then suggested that I try to sell the bag on my own. I am furious, as it should be illegal to list an item's origin as the United States, when in reality it is from China. Had I seen China in the beginning I never would have ordered. Has anyone had a similar experience? How was it resolved?
