Returning an item
I recently ordered 2 ottomans and received only 1. The seller would not respond so I let ebay know that I had not received one of the ottomans. I was given a partial refund for the 1 ottoman that was not delivered. However, I have no use for the one ottoman that was delivered as I needed 2. There is no way for me to now request a refund for the 1 ottoman that I received because of the partial refund for the ottoman that was never delivered. I tried to appeal, but it said case closed. Now, I'm stuck with one ottoman that I don't need. Is there a way to get this resolved. This has been a super frustrating experience with no response from the seller at all, and all this could have been avoided if the seller had sent the correct quantity in the first place. This is the seller's mistake but I feel that I'm being penalized for this.

OP8 months agoThank you for your response. I believe that I did submit a Return Request for a missing item but was not given the option of accepting the partial refund offered... it was just given to me. I'm not sure where to go from here, but I'm super frustrated. How do I open a dispute through the payment processor if this is my only option?

Mentor8 months agoCall or go to the payment processor website, credit card company, PayPal, etc., that you used to pay for the item and open a claim there.

Mentor8 months agoDid you correctly open a Return Request for an Item Not as Described, missing item? If so, you did not have to accept the partial refund and could have forced the seller to accept and pay for the return of the one you did get or refund in full for both of them and if they didn't, asked ebay to step in who would do a full refund without requiring any return.
Sounds like you incorrectly opened the wrong type of Return Request. If so, the best you can do now is open a dispute through the payment processor, but you may be now stuck paying for the return.
