Returning a watch that went through Authentication Gurantee (AG)
Watch is faulty. Runs for an hour or two and stops. Seller seemed sympathetic. Told me to open a case and give "changed my mind" which he said would simplify the matter and preserve his 100% seller rating. Case was closed right away. Then seller recommended I use "damaged" as reason. I received an email from a gentleman with AG who advised that I could not use a second reason and told me ebay would step away and the seller and I would have to work things out. Seller turned out to be unwilling to reach a compromise.
I am out 3 grand and have a watch that does not work. What remedies, if any, do I have.

You can not open a second return with a different reason.
You could try revising the correspondence with customer service, since it is clear that the seller mislead you on purpose. I do not know if they can reopen the return with an appeal. Be sure to nicely tell them you will pursue a chargeback with your credit card if they can not help.
To speak to customer service, use the link on the right side of this page “have us call you†- https://www.ebay.com/help/eua?id=5275&mkevt=1&mkpid
If you don't see 'have us call you', click chat. Then type contact an agent.
If they can not help, call your card issuer and open a dispute for a defective item.
