Returned to sender
Summary: kapalag-0 shared their experience of accidentally using an incorrect address for an item purchased on eBay, which is now being returned to the eBay authentication center. They contacted eBay support and were informed that they will be contacted with options once the package is received. They are seeking advice from others who may have had a similar experience to know whether they could reship to the correct address or receive a refund, and if any further action is needed on their part.
I bought an item on eBay that went through eBay Authenticity Guarantee. Unfortunately, I accidentally had the wrong address on the order. USPS attempted delivery, but the address was marked as invalid/unknown, so the package is now being returned to sender.
Since the item went through eBay authentication, it looks like it’s being returned to the eBay authentication center rather than directly to the seller. I’m honestly not sure how the process works from here since I’ve never dealt with this before.
I contacted eBay support and they told me that once the authentication center receives the package back, eBay will contact me with my options.
Has anyone had this happen before? What happened once eBay received the package back? Were you able to have it shipped again to the correct address, or did they refund you? Is there anything I need to do on my end, or should I just wait for eBay to contact me?
Thanks!
