Return to sender but item missing
Hi fellow ebayers,
Hopefully someone can help me. I've been on eBay a while and buy and sell items, usually clothing, without any problems. Until now.
I recently sold an item that went for £80 and some change. I sent it to the buyer the very next day 1st class recorded delivery with Royal Mail and added tracking number to the transaction for the buyer to see. A couple of days later he contacted me saying that the delivery addressee refused the item ("even though they know me") and it's current status is "returned to the sender." The Royal Mail tracking number confirms this. The buyer requested I send it to another address. But the problem is it has been two weeks, and I still haven't received the returned item, even though I wrote a return address on the package.
I'm not sure what I should do. I'm concerned that the buyer will seek a reimbursement and I will be down £80 odd and not have the item in my possession either, all for something which was not my fault.
I would appreciate any advice fellow ebayers. I'm trying to do the right thing, and, if possible, not lose out.
