Return (ships from) address on outgoing shipping labels printing random things
I have three different addresses listed in my eBay account: one I ship from, one for returns, and one for in-person pickup. I need all three different addresses to stay as they are. I cannot make them all the same. I have input each correctly in the various areas eBay allows for these things.
I printed two outgoing shipping labels today. One printed as my "ships from" address the address I use for returns, which is a different address from the one I am shipping from. The other printed a random jumble of
my name, phone number, eBay username, and part of my street address, followed by my correct city-state-zip.
I am rather unhappy about all of this, and the only solution I have seen offered is to have only one address for yourself and to delete all others. I really can't do this, and besides, it wouldn't stop the site from instead inputting my phone number and eBay username! I guess I should be thankful it didn't print my password as well.
Does anyone have a way to fix this?

OP2 years agoAll of my addresses are updated and correct.
I attached screenshot of the label with some of it blurred out, but there's enough that you can see
.
How do I report this to eBay? I tried navigating their Contact Us menu the other day and didn't get anywhere.

Thanks for posting the screenshot. That's really odd.
You can report this to eBay, but I'm not sure how you can get the screenshot to them. Let me bring this to the attention of someone from the eBay community who can advise.
Editing to ask.... has this happened just once or on multiple labels. When did it happen last?

OP2 years agoI've only shipped a few items in the last month, and this is the only one with the crazy jumble. The others, though, often inaccurate, use some of my other addresses in place of the proper "ship from" address listed in my account.
This was a label I printed on Sunday.

Mentor2 years ago@kami6991 Have you tried selecting reprint from this actions drop down menu next to the label on this page> https://www.ebay.com/ship/labels/seller-hub ( don't select print ANOTHER, or you are paying for a new label)
You may need to void/ cancel this label and buy another one from Pirateship.com. They sell UPS shipping at the same rates as eBay.

OP2 years agoI don't have a "reprint" option on the drop-down menu on that page, which is really strange because.. what if I needed to reprint it and had deleted the label I downloaded? All I see are the options on this screenshot.
FYI I already shipped this.

I've heard back from a member of the Community team, and he advised that you contact support to report this and ask them to open a ticket under your user ID. You can request a callback here:
https://www.ebay.com/help/eua?id=5275&mkpid
As for the screenshot, you can point them to this thread unless they have another method for you to provide it. Here's a link to this thread:

He will also report this on his end in case others have experienced the same thing (so far, I personally haven't seen any reports).

You're very welcome.
Let us know if you have any updates (or a ticket #)! that will help us advise others if anyone else experiences this.

Mentor2 years agoHi @kami6991
You have five addresses to maintain on your account. The Ship From address is the one used for the return address on your labels (the address used for returns from buyers is your Return address).
Be sure to /check/update ALL of your addresses in your profile.
https://accountsettings.ebay.com/uas/addresses
The next time you purchase a shipping label, on the label creation page (before completing the purchase), check to make sure that the zip code displayed for your Ship from/return address is correct. If it's not, click the Edit link and select the correct address as your default. After that, it should "stick" for future labels.
I've never seen on my own labels (or seen a post from a seller) where the return address on a label is a jumble of information. This sounds like either the address is set up wrong, or a one-off glitch. If it happens again, I would report it to eBay.
