return shipping on an item

Question

i just closed out a refund on a return...but could not figure out how to refund the return shipping to buyer. I've tried to go into the original sale but can't do it there. Is there a way to do this once a return has been processed. I just didn't understand about all the procedures involed in a return. The only one I have done was by the buyer request due to a duplicate purchase so they paid return shipping.

Usually when the seller is paying the return shipping, the buyer opens a request and you issue the return label up front through the request.

There is no way to reimburse the return shipping through eBay, so you and the buyer need to agree on a way to do it. You could use paypal, zelle, venmo, even send them a paper check - whatever works best for you both. Electronic methods generally means the buyer needs to send you their email address, although people can be registered with their mobile # in zelle and venmo, which you should have on the order details.
