return shipping fees
Hello,
I contacted a seller that told me they cannot really give me the condition of an item because it is on a shelf with a bunch of other items.
The seller has a return policy but it is that the buyer pays return shipping.
If the item is not working properly, I feel that I shouldn't have to pay return shipping but, because the seller has it listed as such, would I still be responsible for that cost?
I tried asking this on the chat but couldn't get a live agent.
Thank you for any info and/or suggestions.

If the item does not match the description, the seller pays return shipping. His policy only applies to remorse reasons like ‘I don’t like it’.
If you need to return it, after selecting return this item, under reasons select does not match the description, and follow the prompts. Describe the issue in the comments.
The seller has 3 business days to send you a return label or a refund. If he doesn't, or says he cannot send a label, go to your case and click 'ask us to step in'.

OP8 months agoThank you for the response and info. To be fair, the description says: "Runs, ticks - working running watch"
but when I contacted the seller, he couldnt say if the date portion works. Therefore, being that I asked, I wonder if it would still qualify for a refund of shipping fees considering that, regardless of the seller's response, the item description says it works.
Thanks again.

If the condition is used, that means it is fully operational. If the seller is not sure that all of the functions work, it should be listed for parts only. Still, he has been honest and said he is not sure, so do you want to penalize him?
I would message the seller again and tell him you are interested in the watch, but only if it is as described, which is fully functional. He should be willing to pull the item and verify it - if you buy it, he has to pull it off the shelf, so what is the difference? If he’s not willing to do this, I don’t think I would buy it, and I would tell him that it should be listed for parts only if he cannot verify full functionality.

OP8 months agoMakes sense thanks again. Of course I dont want to penalize anyone, I simply don't want to end up paying for something that doesn't work, be it in the price or return shipping so I will ask that they check it out when they can and let me know.
