Return - seller failed to include important info about fitment
Seller listing stated item for sale fits all Sl7/770 rifles. They do not fit all SL7/770 rifles based on his own admission. He put in writing that there are two types manufactured. My rifle will not accept the items he sold me and I require the other type. After several messages he agreed to swap with the type that fit. With help from ebay I opened a return request but the ebay rep missled me into selecting item doesn't fit as reason for return. The seller then took the upper hand and mandated that I pay for return shipping. Also stated that the returned items would be inspected by him and credit for returned items would be based on the condition if the items. This was a red flag as I felt he was preparing to reduce the credit amount. The items were handled gloves and the original wrapping preserved. Basically they are in original condition. He claimed that the items which are from 1990s will not be considered new any longer and he would not be able to sell as new. Total **bleep**... So I accepted his earlier offer to have them checked out by ebay as according to him have a location near him. So final response from me was that I would pay for return shipping but would like ebay to judge the condition. I also agreed to the swap with the type taht will fit my model 770. There were no further word from him till right before the deadline for my return request at which point he rejected my return request. I paid over $1000 for the two magazines and ebay is telling me that there is nothing else they can do. He listed another pair of the same magazines two days ago still not warning that they only for 50% of model 770s. Is there anything I can do to return and get my money back? Please help as ebay is no help at all.

Mentor1 year agoeBay is no help to you since you opened the wrong kind of case and the seller was able to deny the return. The eBay rep should never have told you to use a fit issue for the return as that is considered as buyers remorse and the seller can deny the return. Sometimes reps just want to get you off the phone or chat so they can help other users.
Also, eBay does not inspect returns no matter what the seller told you. This was just a way to keep you on the hook until your time ran out.
So go back to your payment source and ask for a charge back. As long as it is within 180 days from payment this should be granted. This will cost the seller more since eBay will charge a fee to the seller for having to deal with the charge back and they may also give a defect to the seller for not dealing with the problem inhouse.
