I recently listed and sold a pair of wrangler carpenter shorts they were size 32 waist .In my listing I provide 3 photos ; one of which is a photo of the tag on the inside the one that says what size it is , waist , inseam etc a week ago they sold for 6.99 plus 4.35 shipping .this buyer created a return stating that her reason for return , was that the shorts didn't fit , and that it didn't feel like a size 32 waist .all my items are what you see is what you get. And that I do not accept returns and even if I did accept returns , I would decline this one because there isn't anything wrong with my item and I didn't misrepresent anything..I feel like I can and should decline this .I seen a lot of times with items that are relatively cheap. It's a buyers way to score free stuff because most people aren't going to want to go through the return process they'll just let them keep the item and refund their money .I feel like this is a kind of loophole that some will abuse , in order to get stuff for free or very cheap . Anyway before I make a decision I wanted to ask the comm what they thought please send me advice , tips opinions etc

Mentor3 years agoIf the buyer selected does not fit, you can decline the return if sold with no returns.
If he selected not as described, you can either accept the return, or refund without return. If you ask eBay to decide, they will refund from your money without requiring return, due to the low value of the item. Plus then you get a defect for not resolving the issue. So better for to decide for yourself and handle it.
All sellers get false not as described returns, especially when you sell with no returns. It is part of selling online, no way around it. You can report the buyer for abusing the money back guarantee, but that does not come with any financial reimbursement.
When you sell with returns allowed, you accept all returns, no matter the reason. Even if the buyer says they found a better price. The difference is that the buyer pays return shipping, and you do not have to refund the original shipping.
