Return requested from buyer after they had and used item
Summary: kricorreia-0 is concerned about a return they accidentally accepted on eBay, believing the buyer is trying to scam them. The buyer claims the item, which was new open box, had parts missing and was scratched, although kricorreia-0 sent it in perfect condition. They are seeking advice on how to contest the return, as the buyer has used the item for 10 days, and how to contact eBay customer service for assistance, worried about a potential loss of nearly $1000.
I accidentally accepted the return and don’t know how to cancel it. I would like to argue it some how. I believe the buyer is trying to scam me. The item was new open box. They stated it’s functioning at expected, but the pictures of the box they sent me is nowhere near the condition of the box I sent it in, and they are saying pieces were missing that were sent in the box. They would like a full refund. They sent pictures of scratches on the item and the item I sent them hadn’t even been unwrapped. They’ve had it a used it for 10 days at this point. I can’t find a customer service number for eBay to call for help. What do I do? I could even resell this item for 50% of what they bought it for if I accept the return, and if they’ve broken it, it is completely worthless and I would be out almost $1000.

Mentor3 weeks ago@kricorreia-0 You need to follow through with the return request case.
If the buyer files a refund request saying that the item is not as described then you need to accept the return and issue the return shipping label.
The eBay Money Back Guarantee overrules your no returns policy.
If you do not accept the return willingly then the buyer can ask eBay to step in and force a refund. You do not get your seller's fees back, you get a defect and the buyer may be allowed to keep the item.
If the buyer abuses the eBay MBG in some way then you can report them but it doesn't get your money back:

Sellers have protection for return abuse if they offer FREE RETURN shipping on their listings OR if they are a Top Rated seller and offer 30 days or greater returns. The seller can then reduce the refund amount by up to 50% if the buyer sends a different item or somehow reduces the value of the item.
Seller protection:

After you receive the item back you can try and appeal the case.
