Return Requested by buyer
Hi, I have been a member of Ebay for over 15 years. I've sold over 300 items and my feedback is 100% positive. I have a "no return" policy on my acct. Recently I sold an Apollo 11 photo w/signed card & COA, item 267564203689. The listing clearly stated the item was purchased from ICZ Auctions and that the COA was also from ICZ Auctions. I had photos of the COA in the listing. Buyer offered $500 & I accepted. After I shipped the item but before delivery the buyer sent me an email advising he looked into ICZ and the signatures. He claimed the signatures came back "not authentic" and that ICZ is on the "naughty list for the BBB and have been sued numerous times". I believe the buyer should have done his due diligence prior to purchase but regardless he was asking to return the item to me. I thought it was totally unfair of the buyer, he should have done his due diligence prior to purchase. I called Ebay a few times. Each time Ebay advised me to accept the return, even though I have a "no return" policy on my account. I was pressured by them, I had never had a return request before, I was concerned about bad feedback & did agree to accept the return. The item is on its way back to me now. But, I believe Ebay standing with the buyer was totally unfair and I'm quite upset with this. I didn't think to ask the community before agreeing to the return but I am curious what seasoned community members think about this. Did I do the right thing by accepting this return which I feel was totally unfair?

·5 months agoYou agreed to the terms of the eBay Money Back Guarantee when you signed up to sell here. You are fully responsible for what you sell, and telling a buyer they were responsible for vetting the authenticity of an item you are selling is wholly irresponsible. If you get it back, I would recommend you not try to sell it again.

If a buyer files a "not as described" return, the seller has a choice: the seller can refund without a return, or else pay for return shipping and refund upon return.
A "no return" policy is not a "no refund" policy.

Ebay has a 30-day Money Back Guarantee. That Guarantee overrides an individual Seller's return policy.
If a Buyer opens an Item Not as Described refund request, even if it's not true, the Seller needs to accept the return and pay return shipping.
Once the item has been returned, you will need to issue a full refund.
If the item is returned and is exactly as described, report the Buyer for misuse of the Money Back Guarantee.
Ebay takes those reports very seriously and can affect this Buyer's ability to return future items.
