I thought I had Thirty Days buyer protection on all items purchased through Ebay? I had purchased a computer from some Ebay seller. I told him BEFORE buying this box I needed something reliable, and he assured me he had performed all of the work of testing this machine thoroughly and it was running good, and I could count on the ebay protection if some issue did occur... well something did occur... this machine started shutting itself down 6 or 7 days after it arrived, saying: "window has encountered a problem and needs to close"... It did this about 4 or 5 times over the course of a couple days, and then just a black screen... So I emailed the seller to inform him of the issues I was having... and he kept trying to "help me figure it out"... this went along for a week. Finally, I had had my fill of the run around with this guy, I applied for a return authorization on Feb. 1st 0f 2023. I had purchased it on Jan 6th 2023, it arrived on Jan 12th 2023, and on Jan 22nd 2023 it crashed and went complete black screen. Does it sound like 30 days? I think not. Do seem happy? I think not! Can anybody help with this?

Indeed, eBay protects your purchase for 30 days after the estimated or actual delivery date or within the seller's stated returns window, whichever is longer, through eBay's Money Back Guarantee.

OP3 years agoI had applied for a return on Jan. 31st and eBay canceled it and gave me no other recourse... It seemed that I had no choice but to accept a broken computer. One would think there should be mechanism in place to protect the buyer, especially from people selling high tech merch., and protect buyers in general who fall victim to sellers who out-right lie to them and take advantage of their trusting nature. In many years of buying and selling on eBay I have only had this happen one other time. Please advise.
