return request ....
I received a rug not as described. There were stains on both sides of the rug, not revealed in seller's photos or description. I sent seller photos of the stains. Seller did not respond. I filed for a return and a case was opened. I was informed by ebay the case would remain open for 5 or more days while the seller and I attempted to work the matter out. The case was closed hours after I opened it. I presume the seller called ebay and discussed the matter without my knowing nor allowing me to respond to whatever she said. I appealed the decision and within 10 minutes after lodging my appeal, the appeal was denied. How does this happen? Where is my ebay protection? Where is transparency? Ebay has force me to pay and accept a damaged item, and covertly allow the seller to have a voice that I was not permitted to hear nor respond to.

Mentor6 months agoHI @jhfilm eBay doesn't have sinister intent. eBay is all about making the Buyer Experience as pleasant as possible. There is no one-size-fits-all return. There are many variables. You said you're not sure which return option you picked. It sounds like you simply clicked the wrong option for your specific transaction. For example, based on the quick denial, it sounds like you may have clicked Item Not Received and the system instantly found the tracking that showed delivery. You cannot rely on what any voice-representative told you. They do not know the intricacies of eBay, only generalities. Your seller does not have an inside track. If anyone had an inside track, it would be the responders here. If @comics-scifi-collectibles doesn't have an inside track, believe me, nobody does.
Do as @comics-scifi-collectibles suggested and contact eBay through Facebook. If you don't belong to Facebook, all it takes is an email to join. Your message will be received by eBay staff who can review your entire transaction and correct any mistakes. Be sure to put your eBay User ID @jhfilm in the message. Good luck!

OP6 months agowhy should I continue to struggle or be inconvenienced while eBay ignores the facts in this matter as described by eBay.

OP6 months agoI did contact ebay's customer service. they agreed that the actions of ebay were wrong but still deny me a refund. Apparently the workers are not empowered to correct this situation and the higher ups won't. I am wondering what is the reason? ... There is more to this that has been revealed by ebay. I still do not know why my return was denied, why my feedback was removed, why the process of my dispute was corrupted and near instantly closed, why my appeal was denied in less than 10 minutes.

Mentor6 months agoI can tell you why the feedback was removed..... Since the seller "won" the case, even though they should not have won, the feedback is removed. The return system is mostly automated but it usually works much better than this. I have no idea what went wrong.

OP6 months agowhy was the feed back removed for a separate sale for the same seller? why were decisions made instantly and covertly? why was my case closed the same day it opened and the appeal less than 10 minutes? ... ebay not vindictive ? somebody obviously is ... and eBay is listening and acting upon it ...
