Return received, but not my transaction
I have never been a seller on eBay, but I received a return from someone who was trying to return it to a seller. I tried finding a way to look up the transaction so I could let both the seller and the buyer know and get the item to where it belonged. I am not able to track back either party short of sending a letter or refusing the package and returning it to the sender who I presume is the buyer. I’m also a bit stumped as to how my name and address got in the mix. Any suggestions?

Don't send it back yet. If that's an eBay issued "Return" label with your name/address, it's possible your ID has been stolen and being used by another seller here. Those return packages are one clue. The other clue is when you get a surprise 1099K for $20K in sales that you had nothing to do with. Hopefully that's not the case.
If you use social media, then take a photo of the label and attach it to a Private msg to one of the social media teams - insist they investigate why your info is being used by another party and report back to you what they find.
They have experienced & responsive teams there to help resolve most issues.

Mentor9 months agoSince you have never sold anything on ebay, I would mark the package, Refused, Return to Sender. As to how your name/address was in the address slot for Returns, I couldn't venture a guess, unless the seller perhaps at one time couldn't ship and made the purchase from another seller to send to you and never changed that address.
