return of item that does not work seller sends profane text
Bought a watch
new old stock
watch would run a little, then stop
press on crown and it would run for a while then quit
took to watch repair to look at it, said it has some type of issue
I took video of the the watch running and stopping throughout the day while wearing it.
i began a return
received a phone text from seller
Here is some of the message
"...older models aren't great. Hope this helps!
As for the negative feedback, go fuc$ yourself!"
I never submitted negative feedback. I simply stated on the return page item did not work.
Now seller saying he will require a substantial restock fee which is not on sellers page.
Credit card company says I can dispute charges.
Any thoughts?
I can't imagine anyone talking to a customer like that in person but we live in a world of internet heros sadly

·2 years ago@devithoma19 , actually you DID leave negative feedback, unless you’ve had this problem with more than one seller.

If you filed a Return Request, you can ask Ebay to step in to help you.

·2 years agoHi @devithoma19 sorry the seller is treating you that way, I can't imagine ever talking to a customer like that. Don't reply to his messages, reply only within the return case.
If you gave the reason for return as Item Not As Described, then seller cannot charge a restock fee. They can only do that for returns for fit or if you changed your mind (buyer's remorse).
If the seller doesn't reply to the eBay case within 3 days, then eBay will step in and fully refund you.
Also, never reply to a seller's text, phone call, or email outside of eBay's messages. He sent that text to your phone number so that eBay wouldn't see it. You could take a screen shot of the text, then reply to him via eBay Messages, and upload the photo to your message; make it clear in the message it's his text, not you using an expletive. After the case is closed and you've been refunded, then you could try reporting the seller for the text shown in your message.

·2 years ago@tree*fern ,
I thought ebay now didn’t allow ANY restock fees
@lady_madonna ,
do you know which is correct on restock fees?
tree*fern
·2 years ago@glorybells @lady_madonna Thanks for the correction! You're right, they don't allow restock fees. On a buyer's remorse return, the seller would have to be dishonest and claim the item wasn't returned in original condition in order to only partially refund (as if it were a restock fee).

·2 years ago@tree*fern , even then, I think they have to offer free returns and be TRS to withhold.
