Return of item
I have a buyer that wants a refund because “the workmanship was not good and the item was not the one orderedâ€. I told him to return it and he says “I can’t return it because it is in the hands of my customer in Canada. I had to refund him so now I need to be refunded by you.†Huh? I told him I can’t refund him unless I had the item returned. He has left me a neg fb. Will I have to refund him without the item being returned and will eBay remove my neg fb? I really think he is a scammer. Also, if he shipped it on to Canada, did he not check it first when he relabeled it? And, if it is the wrong item or bad workmanship, why did he forward it on?

You do not owe the buyer a refund if they "passed it on/resold it" and cannot return it.
Ebay will not remove the feedback since it does not violate Ebay policy.

OP2 years agoThanks. The fb I was not too worried about. I just did not want to refund $200 on an item without proof it was damaged.

OP2 years agoYes. At first eBay made me pay the $199 to the buyer but I questioned their decision and they changed it and ruled in my favor, returned the $199 to me and even removed the feedback he left me.
