Return Label Concerns
Summary: judah247 is trying to return a phone purchased online but faces difficulties printing the return label, despite the seller's refund. inceptions explains that the refund indicates the seller does not expect the item back and suggests requesting a prepaid label from the seller directly. judah247 has sent another message to the seller to clear things up and appreciates the advice. comics-scifi-collectibles adds that the label should be sent as a JPG image in messages. The issue seems to be a lack of clear procedures on the platform's part.
I have been trying to figure out how to return a phone I purchased because it wasn't unlocked.
After opening a return case the seller sent a label and refunded the money back.
However my concern is that I haven't been able to print the return label and actually return the item to the seller.
I have tried to use the ai chatbot and tried to navigate all the return details on the purchases tab but can't find anyway to print the label.
I even looked at the email records to make sure I didn't miss it.
So basically I haven't found an option on Ebay to be able to print this dumb label and return the phone.
The seller has said nothing and didn't even answer my last message when I was trying to resolve how to unlock the phone.
I highly doubt they will say or be able to do anything.
So now what do I even do? Wait until the seller says something? I have until August 7 according to the one email and I don't even know what to do.

Mentor1 month ago@judah247 just adding to my fellow Mentor's excellent answer that the label has to be sent as a JPG image in eBay messages, not a PDF.

Mentor1 month agoHi @comics-scifi-collectibles
Alternatively, the OP can request the buyer's email address and email the .pdf to him. That's how I usually handle it.

Mentor1 month agoHi @judah247
If the seller actually refunded you, you will not be able to print the shipping label. The premature refund means the seller doesn't want the item back from eBay's point of view.
Many sellers don't realize this and refund before they receive the return. If you are sure you received your refund and you would like to return the phone, message the seller again and ask him to send you a prepaid shipping label (he will have to do this from an alternate website such as Pirate Ship, not through eBay. There is no need to contact eBay. They can't help. This is now between you and the seller. If he doesn't respond to your messages, the phone is yours to keep or dispose of as you wish. I would give it some time though...

OP1 month agoGotcha, thanks for answering. I think its kinda funny because I found a super similar response to yours when I was looking this up and I just wanted to make sure this hadn't changed since then. I actually sent another message to the seller after posting this to make sure they knew what had happened. Sucks that Ebay won't really step in or even that the label can't be printed out. Thanks for taking the time to answer though, much appreciated.
