Return Item Error Message
I need to return a defective item that arrived without a part needed for it to function. The seller agreed to return it after I sent pictures and when I try and open a return request I get the same message over and over again. It reads" Something went wrong. It's not you, it's us. Go back." It seems ebay no longer has customer service. There used to be a ph# to call in this situation. There used to be an email and now there is only a virtual assistant that is useless. I type the problem I have and the virtual assistant doesn't have the capacity to problem solve. Has anyone else had this problem with returning an item? Does anyone have a suggestion on how to reach customer service before my return window closes? Any help is appreciated.

Make sure you are not signed in to a different eBay account when you use that email link.
If you purchased using this eBay account, find the transaction in your Purchase History and go from there.
If you purchased using a different eBay account, sign out of this account, sign in to that account and then find the transaction in your Purchase History.
If you purchased as a guest, sign out of this eBay account, then use the "order details" link in the email you got from eBay.
If none of that helps, contact eBay directly.
To contact eBay, use the chat assistant to request a call back by starting on the Help & Contact page and following the links for your issue.
What options you see may depend on your particular issue and how busy that department is at the moment.
Try entering "agent" into the chat window. You may have to provide some context to reach the correct department. If you see a "Still need help?" or "More options" choice, either of those should lead to a call back option.
