Seller has listed that returns are accepted, but out of kindness I contacted seller stating I’m returning item. They said only if item is defected will they accept the return. The platform gave return address and a date which it has to be returned by as well as a spot to put in tracking details. Do I ignore the seller and return or will I not be refunded if that happens and lose my item? It was listed as change my mind/found cheaper price.

That way we can see exactly what the sellers return policy is and advise on your rights as a buyer.

OP1 month agoeBay provided return address and accepted the return. Seller says the y accept returns. When I said I’m returning they said they will only except if there is a problem

When you filed the Return Request, was your return request APPROVED? Were you provided with a return shipping label?

Mentor2 months agoThe reason stated is considered Buyer's remorse. If the seller has a no returns policy, and you pick a buyer's remorse reason, the seller can Decline the return. If that happens, you can give the item away, donate it, or sell it on any platform.

You will have to pay for shipping out of your own pocket. Is it worth it?

OP2 months agoCan someone please help me, I have gone through this with AliExpress and been scammed out of my money and item so not sure what to do, if eBay is different?

If the seller has a return policy, they cannot deny the return nor limit returns to defective items only.
As for paying for return shipping, that depends on the seller's return policy.
If the seller has "free returns," you should receive a prepaid return shipping label when you open the return request. (Did you open a request?)
If the seller has "buyer pays return shipping," you should receive a return shipping label when you open the return request. Once you use the label to ship the item back to the seller, the price of the label will be deducted from your refund.
If you post the item number, we can see the seller's return policy and more clearly explain the procedure and who pays what.
