Return dispute
I have a buyer trying to return three items because they do not fit. I give size, measurements and great photos. I am available for questions from buyers. I DO NOT accept returns. I was working with real humanCS reps last week and he said no problem, that I will not have to refund the clothing, and contact him when they arrive...."you're not alone" . I have tried to reach a human for three days - several times a day and I can't get past AI girl. Mostly she says it is not business hours????? I call at the same times it went through before. It's after 9 Pac. time. Is anyone unable to get through?

First: eBay has not had a number to call for several years. That is why you are getting that recording that it's outside business hours.
If the Buyer opened a return request on eBay and used fit as the reason, you should have the option to decline the return.
If the Buyer opened an Item Not as Described return request, even if it's not true, you will need to accept the return and pay for return shipping. The eBay Money Back Guarantee overrides your no return policy.
Once the items are back, you would need to refund in full.
If the Buyer did open an INAD and the items come back exactly as described, after refunding, report the Buyer for misuse of the Money Back Guarantee.
By refunding you will get most of your selling fees back. By reporting them eBay should reimburse you for parts of the return label.

OP6 months agoThank you for taking the time to reply. Actually, I've spoke at length with CS humans at that number. And they spent all together a couple hours and told me it would not have to refund. But I can't get through to them this week and the return process w/out human help won't allow me to do anything except accept it. Her Only reason for returning is they didn't fit. Everything was described perfectly with measurements and exceptional photos.

I'm still unclear if the Buyer opened an Item Not as Described case. That makes a big difference.
I know you've said it's for fit, but if the actual case is Item Not as Described, you will need to accept the return and pay return shipping. You would have three business days to accept the return.
I'm hesitating to advise further until you can confirm if it is an Item Not as Described case.

OP6 months agoNo. It was returned because "it doesn't fit". She purchased about ten items and returned 4 because they didn't fit her even though I gave sizes, measurements and great photos. She said all the sellers let her do that and she assumed I would too. Super entitled. I worked extensively with real CS people twice and it was "under investigation " but when I received them back -in 4 separate packages I get to pay for- that's when I couldn't get past AI. I tried countless times as I was told to call when they arrived but that didn't happen so after three days, I had to refund them. I'll be leaving this platform. They do not care about the sellers and I'm tired of corporate same old same old.

I'm sorry this happened to you.
When a Seller doesn't accept returns and a Buyer opens a return request using fit as the reason, that Seller should have the option to decline the return.
If the Buyer was dishonest and used Item Not as Described as the reason, the Seller needs to accept the return and pay return shipping. Once the items are back, the Seller needs to refund in full. The Seller can then report the Buyer for misuse of the Money Back Guarantee. By reporting them eBay should reimburse you for some of your return label costs. By refunding them you should get most of your selling fees back.
Ebay does want to know about Buyers that violate eBay policies, as this Buyer has.
Going forward, if you have concerns about a Buyer, you can post here or message eBay on one of their social media platforms.
