return decline
Hi I received a tablet here on Aruba 2 weeks ago, but is is not working right.
I send the seller the complaint and he asked me to send it back with a retun request.
I filled in the request and directly he closed the request.....
After sending him a message why he closed it, he said now the return is expired.....
This is really grazy!!!!
Can you guys help me or advise me what to do?

Mentor3 years agoHi @marcelaruba68 I'm a little late to this party, but if you used a credit card for payment, or PayPal funded by a credit card, call the phone number on the card and ask about a "chargeback." The credit card company may be able to refund your money. Your problem is simple: You received a broken item and the seller has refused to make it right. Good luck!

Mentor3 years agoWhy should the seller "make it right" when ebay policy states that the buyer loses protection if they use a 3rd party shipper? The seller didn't do anything wrong and shouldn't be responsible.

Mentor3 years agoWhat kind of return did you open? Did you open the return for an ITEM NOT AS DESCRIBED, defective? If so, did you let it expire without asking for ebay to step in? If so, you will have to open a new return through the payment processor, but now will have to pay for return shipping instead of the seller.

OP3 years agoI opened a request for return as advised by the seller...but he closed it immediatly.....
I do mind to pay for the shipping cost to return, but I like to have it replaced or al least have it fixed....

Mentor3 years agoWhat was the reason you gave when you opened the Return request? If you selected that the item was defective or not working, the seller is NOT able to close the Return Request.
When a seller ships to a Freight Forwarding company, the seller is responsible for the item to that address and not beyond. The reason for this is the seller has no control over how the item was repackaged and shipped to you in your country. It is unfair to try and hold the seller responsible when they did not ship the item to your country. This is covered in the Money Back Guarantee that is offered to Buyers.

The item was sent to another address after original delivery

OP3 years agoThank you for your reply.
The original box was not damaged and also the box of the tablet did not have any damage....
I have ordered several electric items like TV, Iphones, Ipads, dishwashers and a lot of medical products for the ICU here on the island and never any issue or damaged boxes.....
This time everthing came as usual with no damage on the boxes but when opening its looks perfect on the outside, but the display is not working properly....
So you advice better not to buy any device from Ebay anymore???

·3 years agoMy advice would be to have items shipped directly to you so you would be covered under the money back guarantee.

OP3 years agoI would like to do that, but they do not want to ship abroad....
So I have to ship it to Miami and let my freight forwarder ship it to Aruba.....

Mentor3 years agoIf you want buyer protection, you have to find sellers who will ship to your country. If a seller doesn't do international shipping, that won't work for you if you want buyer protection.
