Return charge on item that I nevermind l ne

So...Sold an item... unfortunately during shipping it was slightly damaged...but could easily be repaired. Buyer wanted refund. I never received any sort of payout. So why am I now being charged for the entire amount AND why does customer get to keep the item? Case went to her favor...

Sounds like the buyer opened an item not as described case, and you didnâ€™t respond to the case by providing the buyer with a prepaid return shipping label so they could return it. The deadline passed, the buyer escalated the case , it was decided in their favor. So, eBay refunded them from your funds, theyâ€™re allowed to keep the item, and you want more bad news? You got a defect against your seller account for not resolving the problem yourself, and you donâ€™t get your seller fees refunded.
