Return Catch 22
I received an order from eBay that I did not purchase. I couldn’t find it on my eBay, purchase history but I did see that the credit card charge was on my cc statement.
I contacted my credit card company and disputed the charge. My credit card company contacted the seller and because he could prove delivery they overturned the dispute and re-charged me the $62.10.
I then tried to return the item, but eBay will not let you return an item if there is a credit card dispute even if it is no longer open. I contacted eBay Customer Support through their chat and proved to them that the credit card dispute was closed, but they said they could not do anything, but I should contact the seller. When I contacted the seller, he said he can’t do anything outside of and that eBay has to do it.
I then contacted eBay again and this time I talked to a supervisor who said she’s showing the dispute closed on her end, but eBay policy says they cannot allow me to return the item and that I should contact the seller, which I did , and he said he won’t return it outside of eBay and now I am stuck with a product I didn’t order, I don’t want and I can’t return.
Other than refiling a credit card dispute, does anybody have a potential solution?
