return an item past the return date
I purchased an auto part that the seller told me would not leak oil. But shortly after the return date the part began leaking oil. The original part lasted TWENTY FIVE YEARS. The seller assured me that the part was new and would work as expected. I could've purchased a Genuine OEM part for 1/2 again more. HAD the seller NOT LIED TO ME, I would've purchased the other part and it would have lasted another twenty five years. I want to contact eBay to get them to force the seller to give me my money back and a return shipping label to return the part. But the g.d. eBay system protect sellers when the items are out of the return time frame. HOWEVER, had I purchased this part from a LOCAL STORE, I WOULD be able to return it for a refund or exchange (in the event it was the occasional defective part). So, HOW DO I GET EBAY INVOLVED?

Mentor6 months agoYou only have 30 days after receipt of the item in which to return an item for Not as Described/damaged. Since you are past that date, you can contact your funding source, usually a credit card, and file a chargeback, usually for up to 180 days from date of purchase.

OP6 months agoThanks but I already knew that. The problem here is that car and truck parts won't be 'vetted' until they are run for more than a month (30 days). So, it's become a HUGE GAMBLE to buy auto/truck parts on fleaBay these days. Didn't used to be like that. But ever since CHINA got involved, and every since GOUGING and STEALING while hiding behind a computer screen became "usual and customary practice" (like I discovered back in the '80's while living in the middle east), it's 'the new normal' here in fleaBay. However, Almighty God will Judge these thieves and criminal syndicates eventually. I'm merely trying to get them to DO RIGHT BY ME, so that will be one less SIN they get condemned for on Judgment Day.
I still want to know how to get fleaBay involved so they can punish the thief who sold me this part.
